About Our Pets

Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center receives its pets from families that are no longer able to keep or care for their pets, private citizens finding pets wandering dangerously about, and Douglas County Animal Control. Many times, pets coming in from Animal Control have been neglected, and are hungry, and scared. Shelter staff makes every effort to help the pet adjust so that it can become more comfortable. Pets entering our shelter are checked for microchips, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and groomed as necessary. Stray dogs are held for 72 hours with the hope that they will be re-united with their owner. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO NOTIFY THE ADOPTION CENTER AND DOUGLAS COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR PET. If no one claims the pet, it is then evaluated for adoptability.
